Abstract: For the efficient utilisation of internet resources, it is often required to find fairness in one protocol with the others. In this paper, we proposed a network model to revisit the fairness between Reno and Vegas. The proposed model can help us to better understand the reasons of incompatibility between TCP Reno and TCP Vegas and method to improve them. We analyse inter-protocol fairness between TCP Reno and TCP Vegas in wired network focusing on many issues. For wired network we use both droptail and random early detection (RED) as queue management techniques. Then, fairness between Reno and Vegas is analysed in static multi hop wireless network considering many issues. A new parameter percentage share of throughput (PST) is introduced to measure fairness. Result shows that fairness between Reno and Vegas is better at TCP+DelAck/RED then others.
