Abstract: This study elaborates on the relationship between economic growth and the development of industrial cluster and city group. It structures the panel regression model of GDP growth rate on agglomeration index of industrial cluster and city group in China. The results demonstrate a significantly positive effect of industrial agglomeration, urban agglomeration and their interaction on regional economic growth, but this effect is not monotonically increasing. In addition, we find that the promoting effect varies across the geographical regions, specifically, the impact is greater in the eastern regions than the central and western regions.
