Abstract: The objective of this paper is to investigate the impact of knowledge management (KM) on firm performance both directly and via the mediating effect of strategic human resource practices in National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) as an empirical case study. Structural equation modelling (SEM) method is used to test the hypotheses on a sample of 256 employees at the NIDC. The results indicate that KM influences firm performance both directly and via the mediating effect of strategic human resource practices including staffing, training, participation, performance appraisal and compensation.
Keywords: knowledge management; firm performance; strategic human resource practices.
