Abstract: The article presents an analysis of the breeding work of dairy cattle breeding in the Republic of Kazakhstan. 62.6% of the total livestock belongs to the dairy sector. The main part of livestock is concentrated in Almaty (29.4%), Kostanay (10.6%), North Kazakhstan (10.4%), South Kazakhstan (10.2%), and East Kazakhstan (10.2%) regions. In farms with breeding stock, animals exceed the productivity of animals that do not have the status of breeding (+2,280 kg in 2015 and +2,300 kg of milk per cow per year - in 2016), which determine the genetic potential of breeding dairy cattle. Within the framework of the budget scientific and technical program of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, custom-made mating of cows of bull-producing groups with the best breeding bulls was carried out. Genomic analysis was carried out in the laboratory of the Holstein Association (USA) in the obtained bulls. The average GTPI was 1512.6.
