Abstract: This paper presents an investigation on the effect and optimisation of machining parameters on the Metal Removal Rate and Surface Roughness (SR) in the Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) process of Al-Cu-TiC-Si P/M composite. The settings of machining parameters were determined by using Taguchi experimental design method. The variation of MRR and SR with machining parameters is mathematically modelled by using non-linear regression analysis method. The optimal search for machining parameters for the objective of maximum MRR and minimum SR is performed. Based on experimental confirmation the metal removal rate is increased 1.58 times and SR is decreased by 1.11 times.
