Abstract: Although previous studies observed the effects of big data analytics (BDA) on firm performance, some gaps persist. One of the alternatives to improve performance in BDA contexts is to establish collaboration agreements. However, previous research has ignored the effects inter-organisational collaboration could have on supply chain relationships. Grounded on the relational view theory, this study aimed to assess the effects collaboration has on organisational performance, especially when mediated by BDA capabilities. A quantitative study was carried out with Brazilian retail companies and data were analysed using partial least squares - structural equation modelling. The retail sector is characterised as highly dynamic and competitive, so the moderating effect of the technological dynamism and competitive intensity on the relationship between collaboration and organisational performance has also been assessed. We have found out that collaboration has a direct effect on organisational performance, mediated by BDA capabilities and moderated by technological dynamism and competitive intensity.
