Abstract: The levelised cost approach is employed in this study to analyse the cost of a distributed scale standalone reversible solid oxide cell (ReSOC)-based energy storage system. The levelised cost of storage (LCOS) and the storage cost (SC) of the ReSOC system are computed and compared with other storage technologies. The LCOS and SC of the considered system are determined as $0.36/kWh and $0.09/kWh/cycle, respectively. Also, 156 tons/year emission reduction was achieved. The system analysis showed that the scale, capital and electricity cost, and roundtrip efficiency highly influence the system's economic performance.

Keywords: levelised cost of storage; energy storage; reversible solid oxide cell; economic analysis; emission reduction.
