Abstract: The fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) is a global phenomenon, well accepted and implemented in the supply chains of developed nations. So, this paper discusses about the Industrial revolution 4.0 and the obstacles to be faced in its implication in the supply chain of a developing nation such as India. A detailed description of the obstacles or the barriers after proper reviewing, the advantages and the existing limitations are also reviewed and discussed. The paper informs about the current state of affairs present in India and the drawbacks it carries, along with the fields of study related to the revolution. The barriers are as such that they have hampered with the supply chains for manufacturing sector. After prioritising the barriers using prominent and widely accepted tool of DEMATEL, this paper will also shed light on how India can overcome these barriers and obstacles.
