Abstract: This paper proposes an onboard automatic detection of fire, derailment, and collision for a high-speed train. Various IoT sensors such as flame sensors, smoke sensors, and accelerometers are used to detect any railway accidents or derailments. MQ2 gas sensor is used for flammable gas and smoke detection. The basic function of the accelerometer is defined in Proteus using the 'three variable potentiometer' for the values of the three axes to simulate the detection of derailment or collision. RFID tag mounted to the railway track and RFID reader mounted to the train, work together to calculate current location accurately. In case of any accidents, RFID technology provides location information to help identify that accident location. Also, after an accident to help the emergency team, the GPS module gets activated and the live location of the train along with the last recorded RFID location is sent to aid in timely rescue operations.
