Abstract: In this paper, the module function is implemented by using Matlab simulation software to successfully read crack images and perform basic processing of crack images. The image crack morphology is extracted by using grey scale threshold processing algorithm and edge detection algorithm, and the detection results are compared and analysed. Then, the crack quantification process is realised by further calculating the area size, crack length value and maximum crack width value information of the crack area using morphology and distance transformation algorithms. The crack detection method studied in this project can basically realise the extraction of crack morphology, which has certain research value for the subsequent realisation of the automatic detection of cracks.
