Abstract: Although, Amyloid beta (β-amyloid) and neurofibrillary tangles are the assay mark of Alzheimer's disease (AD), cognitive decline is best concerned with synaptic loss, rather than tangles or plaques. The pyramidal neurons in Hippocampus are highly affected by AD. Therefore, pyramidal neurons are prime focus in our study. Pyramidal neurons have extensively developed calcium signalling, a phenomenon that controls the neuronal rhythms desirable for memory processing and cognition, for regulating wide range of functions like controlling rhythmic activities, information processing and memory binding. The focus of our work is to inspect the impact of β-amyloid on calcium signalling and progression of AD through computational study.
