Abstract: Nowadays, in the e-healthcare environment, the transmission of medical issues and information via remote connection is very common. Since medical data or images contain sensitive information along with a patient's details, they are also more susceptible to attacks. Thus, it is very necessary to ensure the security of hidden data as well as the transmitted media in which secret data is embedded. Reversible data hiding contributes a noteworthy role in protecting the secrecy of medical data. This paper with an aim to ensure the safe and secure transmission of medical images, proposes a simple technique to preserve the privacy of medical data with the use of RDH along with encryption. In this paper, the space for data hiding is created before encrypting the medical image, such that highly correlated pixels can be utilised, leading to notable embedding capacity. The efficacy of the proposed work can be seen in the experimental results.
