Abstract: The current study provides the review of academic literature on the external factors, organisational antecedents, processes, and outcomes of digital transformation in the public sector. Using a range of databases and selected conference proceedings, this systematic literature review (SLR) presents the analysis of 158 papers. The findings showed that theory building research was prevalent because most of the studies employed a case study approach. Although many researchers have explored digital transformation in the public sector, a systemic literature review on the context, antecedents, processes and outcomes of digital transformation in public sector is lacking. The current paper aimed to address this gap. It also highlights pointers for future research.
