Abstract: In this paper the real-time Vision System (VS) for small-sized target tracking is described. The target is a spot of a compact laser projector. The considered VS is intended for embedding into a triangulation range measurement system. This range measurement system consists of a video camera and a structured lighting device. VS also can be used with contactless measurement devices, which perform measurements of physical quantities within the limited aperture. The VS allows tracing a trajectory of this aperture in a camera field of view. This trajectory can be displayed for the operator as overlay graphics on the image of a camera field of view. The considered VS is developed for use on general-purpose notebooks with Intel-compatible microprocessors.
