Abstract: As the population of human beings is increasing, everyone is concerned about food security. In India, the problem of weeds is like pouring oil on fire in the context of food security. Several weeds are responsible for that but Parthenium hysterophorus L. is the most harmful amongst them. It is reported as the major source of botheration and health hazards to life in general and also a threat to biodiversity and the environment. Various efforts have been made for its control but without much success. It would be worthy if one can develop a strategy by which the valuable nutrients of the weed biomass could be released, recycled, and reach again to the soil for the expected crop. Composting might be used in the conversion of its biomass to an applicable material. This article will provide imprecise information for various methods of composting the weed.
