Australia's approach to Varroa mite management must adopt a global perspective, integrating lessons learned from diverse contexts. Concurrently, a strong commitment to research and development is crucial for fostering homegrown innovations. This comprehensive approach aims not only to address immediate challenges posed by Varroa mites but also to establish enduring resilience within Australia's ecosystems and beekeeping industries for the long haul. The study concludes by recommending research and development initiatives to tackle the challenges posed by Varroa mites in Australia and detailing how stakeholders such as government agencies, researchers, beekeepers, and environmental organisations can collaborate effectively to implement the outlined strategies.
