Abstract: This paper defines the construct of managerial self-esteem, describes an instrument for its measurement and presents an exploratory analysis of construct validity by examining its relationship with selected intrinsic, coping, and organizational variables. Included is a set of hypotheses that guided the validation of the measure. Homogeneity of scale items, test-retest and internal consistency reliability, convergent and discriminate validity are discussed.
