Abstract: A structural equations model of outcome expectancy and computer self-efficacy and their effects on behavioral intentions to use computers was developed for a non-volitional setting. The model was tested using subjects who are managers and executives across organizations and organizational levels. Several of the paths in the model were statistically significant at a 1% level. The significant paths to the computer self-efficacy measure were ease of system use and previous computer experience. Computer self-efficacy had significant paths to both work-related and personal outcome expectancies. Further, both outcome expectancies had significant influences on behavioral intentions to use computers.
Keywords: Computer self-efficacy; outcome expectancy; behavioral intentions; computer usage; non-volitional settings.
