Abstract: Working adults in evening business programs often have difficulty with courses involving quantitative reasoning. The most common complaint among these students is the pace of the course and, due to the fact that they may be only on campus one night a week, it is often difficult for them to utilize the learning resources available to full-time students. Recent developments in AI technology have brought about the capability to significantly improve the self-learning process. This paper proposes and outlines the steps required to develop an expert system-based learning program for working adults who have returned to the classroom.
Keywords: Artificial intelligence; AI technology; distance learning; quantitative reasoning; self-learning.
