Abstract: This study offers insights on how executives, managers, and employees perceive the likelihood of various major crises or disasters. Findings indicate that natural disasters were perceived most likely to occur while terrorist attacks were perceived as the least likely to occur. Further pairwise comparisons reveal significant differences between the various levels of management for major terrorist attacks, natural disasters, and accidental disasters. Suggestions for future research, management implications, and limitations of the study are also offered.
Keywords: Crisis preparedness; top-level managers; perception; natural disasters; management levels.
