Abstract: Recently, real driving emissions (RDE) has become an indispensable complement to traditional laboratory test. However, the measurement of RDE through portable emissions measurement systems (PEMS) is acknowledged to be of non-ignorable uncertainty. In this paper, a second-by-second Type B evaluation is proposed on the theoretical basis of EN17507. Through source decomposition, matrix manipulation and Monte Carlo simulation, the calculation procedure is summarised into a brief algorithm convenient for practical use. A set of RDE experiments is carried out with 12 China-VI light-duty vehicles (LDVs). With the proposed evaluation approach, commonness and speciality of current PEMS uncertainty for four main pollutants are analysed.
