Abstract: The current study aimed at examining the role of democratic leadership (open communication, shared decision making, accountability and responsibility, information sharing) in strengthening managerial transparency within the cooperative sector in Kuwait. Quantitative methodology was adopted, and a questionnaire was distributed to a sample of 111 managers, leaders and employees within the Co-Op Society in Kuwait. SPSS was used to mitigate primary data. The results of the study indicated the acceptance of the main hypothesis argued, 'democratic leadership has the ability to strengthen management transparency within Kuwaiti Co-Op Society'. Among variables of democratic leadership, it was seen that they all scored an acceptable level of influence, the highest however appeared to be open communication; this indicated that it can increase the flow of real information in the real-time and supports organisational efforts to make the right decision at the right time. The study recommended a culture be developed that appreciates open and transparent connection between leaders and employees. The significance of the current study lies in its ability to increase the attention towards leadership in the Co-Op Society in Kuwait.
