Abstract: Culture is the backbone of any society. To form a progressive society, different cultures were created and modified. The scope of cultural aspects is very broad and it is interlinked with cultural geography. Unfortunately, a question surely arises; why are we carrying with us some evil cultures, knowing their harmfulness? If we are conscious of their damage level, why are we not trying to actively remove them? Can we mark for its reason our self-centredness, fear, compromising mentality with wrongness or some intensity to harm others? Different forms of ragging in West Bengal are nakedly exposed as a curse of our society and are challenging to sustain due to our strong will power. We should make a significant effort to abolish those evils and must avoid thinking in only engaging in social moves once one would be victimised.
Keywords: abolish; challenging; conscious; harmfulness; centeredness.
