Abstract: The crystallisation of Fe40Ni40B16Si4 annealed amorphous alloy was studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) method. Samples were annealed up to 690ºC. The DSC measurements, having a constant heating rate, show three crystallisation processes. XRD was employed to determine the crystallisation product at different temperatures, the precipitates were found to be the Fe, Ni, and Fe2B, BFe2, Ni31Si12 phases.
Keywords: amorphous alloys; crystallisation; metastable phases; annealing.
