Title: Closing the performance gap through technology transfer: linking theory and practice

Abstract: A framework of analysis is offered in which the key elements of an organisation are related to a firm|s capacity to close the performance gap between existing and desired performance. Using this framework, technology transfer as a strategy for technological change is examined through the experiences of one company, a foundry, which sought to change products and processes, as a means of rebuilding competitive advantage.
