Abstract: Science and technology incubators play an increasing role in contributing to entrepreneurial, venture and economic development. This paper is concerned with the strategies for technology commercialisation and support for new venture development. The study has applied the cluster-based strategies of Silicon Valley to the case of Thailand. The findings highlight the role of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA)|s Science Park and the National Innovation Agency (NIA)|s Innovation Park in supporting technology commercialisation and the development of the national innovation system. Finally, this study discusses the policy implications which would be useful for policy makers in other developing economies.
