Abstract: In Indonesia, the process has begun of legal drafting to establish regulation based on Act No. 10/2004 on the Establishment of Legislation and Presidential Regulation No. 68/2005 on the general mechanism of establishing a national legal framework. The process shall comply with the constitutional and institutional requirements of the nation|s political and legal system. In general, in the process of legal drafting, international publications or regulations of other countries can be a reference and the implementation of the regulation programme has to be consistent with the international legal instruments. This paper describes the process of establishing legislation, legal drafting of nuclear regulations of the Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and the current status of NPP regulations in Indonesia.
