Title: The new strategic concept of NATO: the Portuguese role

Abstract: The strategic concept of NATO is a very important document of this organisation. The main reason why NATO needs to do a revision of this document it is because the world has changed over the past few years. The threats that existed in 1999, the date of the last strategic concept, are not the same that we have today. Portugal is a founding member of NATO and can have a very important role in helping NATO to look upon the Euro-Atlantic South region.
