Abstract: Entrepreneurship is important for any country, as a way of empowering its people, to create employment, to create wealth for the country and to reduce problems related to social welfare and unemployment. Individuals take up entrepreneurship as a means to create wealth and employment for themselves, family and others. As a result, countries and individuals have all embraced entrepreneurship. Consequently, countries have developed programmes, implemented positive policies and provided incentives to promote entrepreneurship. Therefore, it is important to understand what motivates, what drives the entrepreneur to start an entrepreneurial venture and what would sustain him to remain in the venture.
