Abstract: This paper explores several notional system-of-systems simulations to determine common statistical features which may indicate emergent behaviours within the data fields. Several statistical changes within data fields are determined as well as desirable attributes for simulation metrics. It is found that emergent behaviours can be identified in these large simulations as local non-linearities, discontinuities and in some cases regions of locally high variance; and the ideal metric attributes should be divergent and remove impacts of transient time.
