Abstract: This paper outlines many current problems encountered in the design of driver workstations. Population accommodation and statistical models, relevant anthropometric databases, design standards, software design tools and the use of mannequins are all discussed. Many solutions are also included that contribute to update the state of the art in design.
Keywords: driver workstations; driver-vehicle interaction; ergonomics; occupational health; workstation design.
