Abstract: This paper studies a deploying process of a rocket-towed net system. In the main, with reference to Kane's equation, a two-dimension multi-body lumped mass system model is established to provide a basis for formulation and analysis of the deploying process. Some assumptions are proposed to simplify, but without losing generality, the motion of the net. The simulation results show that a big shock occurs at the towing wire just before the net is about to move.
