Abstract: Technological Forecasting (TF) has been acknowledged as an effective tool in setting technology strategies. A large number of techniques have been evolved for TF. It is important to improve both applicability of the techniques and quality of results. The applicability demands that the technique used needs to be time specific, space specific and technology specific. We present the gaps in TF and analysis of its limitations. As a result of the analysis, some of the issues have been identified that need focus and action implications have been suggested to improve the quality of TF.
