Abstract: In order to define the functions of all kinds of Highway Logistics Information Platform (HLIP) and the relations among them clearly, some domestic and abroad studies on the concept and classification of LIP are analysed. Based on the analysis, the multidimensional classification framework system of HLIP is proposed according to their business scopes and information gathering technology, respectively. By business scope, the HLIP is classified into city-distribution LIP, trunk-transport LIP and software-solution LIP, and by information gathering technology into ERI LIP, satellite-navigation LIP and IOV LIP. These HLIPs are introduced and contrasted in detail by adopting the method of contrastive analysis and illustrations. It is summarised that the development trends of HLIP are intelligentisation, ecologicalisation and standardisation at the end of this study.
