Abstract: Electrical discharge machining process is a material removing method that is based on the principle of erosion of work surface by electrical sparks produced by high-density current supply. The process is usually applied on the machining of difficult-to-machine metals with high electrical conductivity, which have some mechanical properties affecting machinability negatively, or on the machining of very complex shapes. These situations make it necessary to closely control the process and check the influence of parameters on the resulting output, which is usually in the form of material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness. The rate of material removal is the most important parameter as it directly influences the cost of machining and hence needs to be carefully analysed. Statistical analysis of the results obtained by experimental work is also an important part of the study as it determines the influence of input parameters on the behaviour of output response.
