Title: Pregnant women's perception towards the prescription given by the doctors

Abstract: Pregnant women faces some common discomforts during pregnancy such as morning sickness, backache, bladder and bowel problems, changes in skin and hair, cramps, swelling, varicose veins, fatigues, headache and indigestion, etc. For these discomforts, some pregnant women would get advises from doctors and others will get medicines from medical shops without doctor prescription. This would lead to many side effects for pregnant women, some may face abortion too. Therefore, the researcher was conducted study on the pregnant women's perception towards the prescription given by doctors. The researcher has collected data from 100 pregnant women in Vellore District by distributing well-structured questionnaire. The researcher found that there is a significant association between number of dependents and pregnant women's frequency to visit the clinic. Age and number of dependents are the important independent variable in predicting the pregnant women's perception towards doctor's suggestion and prescription of medicines.
