Abstract: This paper studies the cross correlation between the time series of atmospheric CO2 concentration and the temperature anomalies data using multifractal detrended cross correlation analysis (MF-DXA) methodology. The data sets for both the series are obtained over a period from 1994 to 2009. In our previous paper we have studied the multifractal nature of the time series of atmospheric CO2 concentration using multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis (MF-DFA). In this paper we have attempted to explore the correlation between the increasing CO2 concentration and increasing values of temperature anomalies. The present study reveals the fact that the individual series are autocorrelated and there exists cross correlation between the two mentioned time series.
