Special Issue on: "Sustainable Development of e-Environment"

The importance of the e-environment is increasingly being discussed in today's society. Back in 2003, the e-environment was defined as the use and promotion of information and communication technology (ICT) as an instrument for environmental and sustainable use of resources. It includes the implementation of ITC-based systems to store, access, manage and disseminate environmental data and information (World Summit of the Information Society (WSIS), 2003).

In this context, the e-environment enables a sustainable assessment of the situation and minimises the negative impact in the analysed environment, no matter whethwe we are talking about the global or local environment, or society or the economy. In agreement with Akkerman (2001) when he defined e-business as the point where economic value creation and information technology come together, we want to say that the e-environment ensures the stability of e-business processes.

This special issue aims to explore the link between sustainability and e-environment from theoretical, methodological and disciplinary perspectives. We invite authors to contribute to this issue by submitting comprehensive reviews, case studies or research articles.
