Abstract/Summary: Collaborative design is a concept that is on the increase due to the influence of extended enterprise structure for projects. In the field of product development activities related to design and simulation, there is an increasing need for exchanging "data packages" between partners and for constantly providing updated environments. For a few years, this need of collaboration between partners, has involved new developments of collaborative platforms to support collaborative product development. This paper focuses on collaborative design and proposes the description of an integrated platform developed within the European Commission 6&supth; Framework Project called VIVACE (Value Improvement through a Virtual Aeronautical Collaborative Enterprise).
