Abstract/Summary: Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is a key driver of economic growth. ICT access remains a serious problem in Africa particularly in a young Eritrea. Eritrea has a very low density of personal computers and internet. The purpose of this paper is to present a comprehensive theme of ICT in Africa with a case study of Eritrea. Eritrea implements ICT in education as part of its recent reform development. It examines the challenges that were and are faced by Eritrea and identifies the specific challenges of Eritrean Information Technology (IT) education and provides some solutions. The study intends to contribute to the dialogue concerning ICT education.
