Abstract/Summary: The paper analyzes characteristics of cooperative product design environment that integrates the experts from different disciplines to realize a common objective in product development. An asynchronous centralized platform of cooperative design is presented to share product data and design constraints across design teams and activities. The shared model evolution control system is implemented in order to assist experts controlling incoherencies and maintaining multiple-view consistency in cooperative way. A case study shows the application of the proposed mechanism for the development of cooling fan product.
