Abstract/Summary: An important basis for a sustainable acting in the area of plastics recycling is the using and interpretation of data, achieved by balance sheets which take into account all steps in the life cycle of plastics waste. The paper will set the focus on plastic recycling in the plastics processing industry and the special impact of the treatment, logistics and storing process steps. This shall take into account economic, environmental and social aspects. The first part of the paper shall evaluate the recycling options of different case studies. The second part will be based on a discussion for appropriate methods for the assessment of such evaluation results.
