Abstract/Summary: In the last decade, a variety of methods and standards for integrating different domain-specific design processes into a holistic mechatronic product design have been developed. Introducing the existing methods into practice is hardly possible because of the high heterogeneity of domain-specific processes, data and IT-Engineering-tools. This paper describes a new management approach for mechatronic product design based on a service-oriented paradigm. The approach allows the integration of existing domain-specific data, processes and tools into an overall interdisciplinary mechatronic environment. The feasibility of the developed approach is demonstrated by its implementation in the automotive industry.
