Abstract/Summary: Disabled/physically challenged or alternatively enabled persons would always be a part of society. The important thing is that with the right kind of environment, they can accomplish great feats. The framers of Ghana's 1992 Republican Constitution saw this truth and came up with an appropriate prescription for the welfare of the disabled. The problem is that many structures in Ghana's public tertiary educational institutions show no indication that they adhere to the provisions of the Constitution. This hampers the potential of the disabled to access educational facilities with comparative ease. The major question then is; 'Is there an inadvertent attempt to disable the disabled academically?' The paper reports on a study of structures on the campuses of the three public tertiary institutions in Kumasi and makes recommendations.
