Big Data encompasses large volume of complex structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, which is beyond the processing capabilities of conventional databases. The processing and analysis of Big Data now play a central role in decision making, forecasting, business analysis, product development, customer experience, and loyalty, to name but a few.
Emerging Trends on big data analytics is intended to facilitate effective communication and exchanges between scientists in the fields of big data processing. It will reflect the significant advances that are currently being made in computer science. It includes original review articles, research papers written by individual researchers and research groups which appeal to the international community of academics and other professionals.
Subject CoverageTopics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Parallel and distributed computing
- Programming models in Grid and Cloud
- Distributed/federated information
- Knowledge Management/Discovery
- Big Data and Machine Learning

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written and if appropriate written permissions have been obtained from any copyright holders of the original paper).
All papers are refereed through a peer review process.
