Abstract: This study is the first that seeks to investigate empirically a comprehensive, robust framework to uncover the macro and micro factors of innovation implementation effectiveness in Saudi Arabia by validating two current best-practice models. Data gathered from 140 organisations confirmed that the original model was valid across various innovation types and levels of innovation. Moreover, the study enhanced the original model by extending its micro spectrum through exploring the impact of personal innovativeness, social influence and image on implementation effectiveness. While recent research highlighted the importance of such micro-factors that are often neglected in holistic evaluations of implementation effectiveness, our results found a positive, albeit modest, relationship. In addition, our study was able to also demonstrate the lack of strong moderation effect in the hypothesised correlation between innovation types and financial resources. Implications of our findings and enhancement to the original model are discussed.
