Performance evaluation of public and private sector banks

Abstract: This paper is attempt to analyse how domestic banks performed during the fiscal year (2015-2018) that go through issues affecting the sector, in general, while also explaining how the future of banking performances. The study included performances of 19 publicly listed state owned banks and SBI associate banks. In this paper performances of all the listed private sector banks have also been covered. Banks have since existence playing vital role in channelise of savings into productive purpose. As intermediaries, banks facilitating the flow of savings into investment for industrialisation of economy. But over the years the significance of banks undergone with changes in their functions like financial services. Now banks are not limited with accepting of deposits and disbursement of loans and advances.
