Abstract: This research investigates the effect of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) on diesel engines on performances, and exhaust emissions in a four-stroke single-cylinder variable compression ratio diesel engine. Due to higher viscosity and low fuel atomisation the diesel fuel shows lower combustion efficiency and higher emissions. Usage of hydrogen peroxide at different percentages as an additive improved the performance and reduced the emissions of the diesel engine; this is due to increases in cetane number and higher oxygen availability for combustion. The tests performed on the engine showed the improvement of performance and decreased NOX and CO emissions.
