Abstract: Every organisation seems to be struggling to sustain its competitive advantage in such a turbulent scenario. Organisations need a workforce that displays high organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) that refers to employees who choose what they choose to do spontaneously and at their own discretion, often outside the scope of their specified contract. Researchers still have a long way to go and continue to demand further empirical investigation, especially to determine how job embeddedness (JE) has evolved so that employees and organisations can be psychologically connected. Subsequently, the current study proposes to add to the extant literature on work engagement (WE), JE, and its role in promoting OCB by employing the 'conservation of resource theory'. Considering the sample of the IT sector organisations of India, structural equation modelling was used to analyse the nested relationship of WE, JE, and OBC. The result indicated a significant relationship and high influence of WE and JE on OCB.
