Abstract: The development of the digital economy drives the transformation of traditional competition and value creation models. In this context, value co-creation has become a new model of enterprise development. However, only a few studies have focused on inter-enterprise value co-creation and how value co-creation behaviour affects enterprise innovation performance. This study explores the internal mechanism of value co-creation behaviour affecting enterprise innovation performance by introducing resource integration, and examines the impact of network breadth on this mechanism. We collect 365 sample data of Chinese enterprises and conduct hypothesis testing using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. Empirical results show that inter-enterprise value co-creation behaviour positively affects resource integration and enterprise innovation performance. Resource integration has a significant positive impact on enterprise innovation performance, and plays a partial mediation effect in the relationship between inter-enterprise value co-creation behaviour and innovation performance. Network breadth has an inverted U-shaped moderating effect on the positive relationship between value co-creation behaviour and resource integration and value co-creation behaviour and enterprise innovation performance. Conclusions can theoretically expand the existing explanations of enterprise innovation performance changes and guide enterprise value co-creation practice.
